Introduction
Ground borne vibration is not actually a dark art but is sometimes referred to as such and can seem confusing at first. It’s just one of those topics! To de-mystify the subject and bring it to life, we are running this 2-day course, so we can delve into the world of PPV’s, Geophones, building damage and blasting, along with all the linking terminology, applications, and instrumentation.
During the course, we look at the difference between human response to vibration and the effect on buildings as well as going through some vibration theory and finally, a real-life case study to bring all the knowledge together, so whether you need to look at the effect of construction activities on nearby buildings, or the effect on people living near a railway line, then there should be something for you.
Who is it for?
This course is for anyone who has to manage or assess for the effect of ground borne vibration on buildings or people. You may be from a local authority, a construction company or housing association or you might be a consultant trying to help your customers. We start with the basics, so it is not important to have active experience in the subject and for those who have no previous knowledge, we have an introductory module so you can catch up on some of the basics.
Modular Approach
We break most of our courses into modules, so you can see the process involved in the learning. The most important thing is that we are here to help you through all of it, so if you need us, all you have to do is ask!
Your Tutor
All our tutors are at the top of their game and every one has a vast amount of experience of handling the subject matter in question. The same is true for this course, so you not only get someone who is a highly experienced trainer, but also who is actively involved in carrying out assessments like the ones you will be faced with.
Module 1 – Video tutorial
We have a video tutorial, which you can watch in your own time, which is designed to give you a good overview and grounding in the basics of the subject so that you can come along to module 2 with plenty of confidence – and questions if you have them.
Module 2 – 2-Day Residential Course

Your certificate will be based on this submission. Don’t worry though, we won’t leave you out in the cold and will be here to help if you need it.
What do you get?
We like to provide the best experience possible for our training, so we like to make sure you have everything you need, this includes.
