Introduction
Monitoring the condition of machinery is a key element of predictive maintenance strategies, which are designed to reduce or eliminate unplanned failure of plant and equipment. Being able to gather and use the information to maximum effect is essential to the success of such programmes. This course is designed to give delegates all the information and skills to implement predictive maintenance programmes in their workplace using condition monitoring techniques to best effect.
Who is it for?
This course is for anyone who is involved in plant or machinery maintenance programmes. You may be from a manufacturing business, a processing plant or a utility company or you might be a consultant trying to help your customers. We start with the basics, so it is not important to have active experience in the subject and for those who have no previous knowledge, we have an introductory module so you can catch up on some of the basics.
Modular Approach
We break most of our courses into modules, so you can see the process involved in the learning. The most important thing is that we are here to help you through all of it, so if you need us, all you have to do is ask!
Your Tutor
All our tutors are at the top of their game and everyone has a vast amount of experience of handling the subject matter in question. The same is true for this course, so you not only get someone who is a highly experienced trainer, but also who is actively involved in carrying out assessments like the ones you will be faced with.
Module 1 – Guide
We have a downloadable guide, which you can read in your own time, which is designed to give you a good overview and grounding in the basics of the subject so that you can come along to module 2 with plenty of confidence – and questions if you have them.
Module 2 – 2-Day Residential Course
Day 1
- Fundamentals of Vibration
- Application Overview

Module 3 – Predictive Maintenance Plan
There is no exam for this course, which is the good news! There is an assessment in the form of a maintenance plan to be completed at the end of the course and submitted to us for marking. Your certificate will be based on this submission. Don’t worry though, we won’t leave you out in the cold and will be here to help if you need it.
